Played a lead consultant role for the development of USAID/Indonesia Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) program for 2012 to 2014. Collaborated with two national consultants for DRR governance and community development and execution. Carried out various assigned tasks, such as evaluating current Indonesian DRR programs; determining gaps and opportunities for effective DRR implementation at the national, province, and district levels; and recommending relevant options for a strategy and DRR program for Indonesia’s current and future needs.
Managed the development and presentation of a 70-page report detailing context and program analysis and recommended outlined strategy, which was effectively adopted by USAID.
2008 - 2011Led and supervised Oxfam Emergency Response, DRR, and Logistics teams to represent Oxfam at the highest levels in the country, with partners, and when required within the region and globally. Communicated with agency regarding strategic directions and issues. Provided humanitarian advocacy direction at country level in cooperation with regional and Oxfam International advocacy, as well as contributing to key co-ordination mechanisms and working with other players, such as UN WASH cluster, UN Humanitarian Country Team, and Emergency Capacity Building Project. Monitored resources, including assets and staff, in compliance with local legislation and agency standard. Assumed country director responsibilities, and participated in the succession plan and nationalization of the country humanitarian program manager post and recruitment as part of the country’s Senior Management Team.
Provided strategic leadership with Oxfam Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Reduction programme. Managed the execution of PRIME programme framework, a multiple-year disaster management programme; development of a 5-year joint operational plan 2010-2014 by integrating disaster preparedness and response, disaster risk reduction, and advocacy; escalation of funding; and implementation of a 4-year DRR programme (AusAID 4M USD) targeting 120 villages across 17 districts in Eastern Indonesia and aiming at working with district government civil society and communities.
2006 - 2008Supervised the Oxfam Emergency Response Team, modified project objectives and work plans, and oversaw an annual budget of £650K to £900K. Managed the sectoral technical coordinators on water and sanitation, hygiene promotion, emergency food security and livelihood. Coordinated with the finance manager to ensure the proper management of grants in compliance with donor regulations (~£800K annual).
2002 - 2005Worked in collaboration with country director and represented the mission, policies and interests of IRC in Burundi. Partnered with program coordinator to communicate with donors to ensure high-quality reporting from field, to develop and implement an effective system of project monitoring and evaluation. Supported program and technical coordinators in carrying out projects in accordance with donor regulations (OFDA, ECHO, UN, and SV). Held responsibility in overseeing seven field offices, five expatriate, and five national coordinators.
2002 - 2002Oversaw public health projects co-funded by USAID/OFDA and UNOCHA in the provinces of North Sumatra and Central Sulawesi. Directed and coached national staff, from recruitment to performance review to leverage performance.
